Info Evening in Weissenbach – a Complete Success!

The info evening in Weissenbach was a great success and met with enormous interest in the region. More than 100 visitors filled the parish hall to the last seat and learned about our association. The presentations and subsequent discussions provided valuable insights and answered numerous questions.

Particularly pleasing: About 30 participants registered the following week – a clear sign of the necessity of the event and our association.

If you would like to hold an info day in your municipality, you can contact us or your community. If there is enough interest, we will gladly take the time.

Important info on invoices, credits & statutes

We want to inform you that all invoices have been collected and credits transferred. Unfortunately, there was a small delay of a few days due to an incorrect IBAN. The next billing for Q1 2025 will take place around June 4, 2025.

Please remember: If you have a new bank account, do not forget to enter your new IBAN in the system.

Transparency: Annual Report

In the coming weeks, we will publish our annual financial statement online to ensure transparent handling of association funds.

Our energy community is growing rapidly!

πŸš€ We now have 160 members!

And almost daily new ones join. We are very pleased that our commitment is so well received.

Exciting idea for members with battery storage in summer

Empty the battery storage at night!

An oversized battery storage that would be constantly full in summer can be operated even more economically – optimized for personal consumption!

How does it work?

  1. Charge storage later: Set your storage so that it doesn't start charging at 7:00 AM with the first rays of sun, but only after 8:30 AM. The morning electricity produced until then can be sold completely to EGOT.
  2. Use storage optimally: If your storage only discharges minimally overnight, you cannot store as much solar energy the next day.
  3. Discharge specifically in the early morning: Empty your storage best only in the morning so that you can still supply your devices at night.

Important notes!

  • The times mentioned depend on the production of your PV system
  • An increased discharge frequency can reduce the lifespan of some storage types
  • The actual benefit must be checked individually

Calculation example: A member with a 20-kWh storage calculates an additional yield of approximately €100/year. At the same time, another member saves an additional €250/year in electricity costs.

Adjustment of PV feed-in – your opinion matters!

Currently we have a large surplus of PV electricity, which will increase further in summer. Therefore, we have decided that new PV systems may only feed in at 20% for now. The remaining electricity continues to be paid by the energy buyer.

Tips for using EC electricity wisely!

Very favorable times to use more electricity are currently approximately between 10 AM and 3 PM, in summer approximately between 9 AM and 7 PM.

1. Automation & Control

  • Use smart sockets to operate devices specifically in favorable time windows
  • Timers for simple devices like boilers or pumps
  • If available, use home automation (e.g. KNX, Home Assistant, Loxone, Shelly)

2. Prioritize consumers

  • Large consumers first: Washing machine, dishwasher and water heating should fall in the sunny hours
  • If not enough sun, stagger consumption

3. Optimize pool & garden irrigation

  • Run pool pump and filter between 10 AM and 3 PM
  • Garden irrigation preferably in the morning or afternoon

4. Smart hot water control

If you have an electric boiler, instantaneous water heater or heat pump for hot water: place water heating in the sun hours.

5. Reduce standby & unnecessary consumption

  • Consistently switch off devices that are not used – TV, router, chargers often consume unnecessary electricity
  • Refrigerator & freezer: defrost regularly and set temperature optimally (refrigerator: 6–7 Β°C, freezer: -18 Β°C)
